Working on the success of my previous collaboration, we had another recent residency project for an Edmonton-based contemporary circus company. Called, Firefly Theatre and Circus, the company worked on a brand new piece at the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre in Camrose with a residency prior to the performance.

Why a residency?

For us at the theatre, it’s a chance to celebrate the arts, enhance our offerings to the community, and give other performing arts organizations a chance to develop their creative works. For organizers, the residency provides creative flow and direction in a professional stage with lights, sound, and placement being their focus before the big show.

The collaboration came in the form of meeting with the executive director and artistic director of a performance called Éphémère that changed its shape and focus. It was quite a performance. See the interview and preview clips I shot and edited below.

Like my other collaboration project, this was shot and recorded on an iPhone. When you have limited time, sometimes you have to make due with what you have.
